Re: Transmission Overheated?

I am not a trans tech, so I dont really know where it is realistic but according to the hydraulic schematics there can be up to 118psi running through the cooler circuit. The lowest given psi for that circuit is 15psi. These pressures change with converter clutch apply and unapply.

I agree with others, great if it works for you, but this is a BIG gamble. With no flair on the lines there is nothing but the friction holding it on there, hell even radiator hoses that see 16psi have a lip.

Also its not a matter of starting to leak, if they let go they are going to start spraying, its not going to give you a "hey Im tired of holding onto nothing" its just going to let go.

Ultimately, good luck. New lines is not "the only way" its obviously the suggested way. I hope it works for you, I am just not personally interested in being stuck on the side of the freeway be it my 20 mile commute to work or while im across the state hunting. Not that tranny cooler lines are the only thing to worry about leaving you stranded... its a JEEP! lol
