Trouble unscrewing stock antenna

I know this doesn't sound like much of a problem, but i can't get the damn thing off. I bought a shorty antenna to replace the original, but it won't budge. My guess is that it has never been unscrewed and i don't want to break the housing on the front quarter panel. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions? I'm thinking liquid wrench might help. Thanks fellas.

Re: Trouble unscrewing stock antenna

PB Blaster is just about the best break free you can buy. id wrap the area with a towel to be safe with over spray on paint and barely push on the cap to get it to spray slow and cover the base of the antenna. let it sit for 30 min then try to unscrew.

Re: Trouble unscrewing stock antenna

if the base was starting to turn id find something to isolate it. maybe a large pair of channel locks or something to turn it against the antenna.
