Re: Trying to remove a Overland Steering Wheel NEED HELP

the puller screws onto the bolt and you put the arms on the metal spokes...as you screw the puller onto the bolt...it pulls the wheel off

Re: Trying to remove a Overland Steering Wheel NEED HELP

the WK manual says

3. Partially remove the steering wheel bolt and leave the bolt in the column.
4. Install puller (2) or equivalent using the top of the bolt to push on.
NOTE: Ensure the bolts are threaded firmly into the steering wheel.

5. Remove the steering wheel.

Re: Trying to remove a Overland Steering Wheel NEED HELP

As said; I done the wheel swap on mine.

The wheel/pulley puller is all you need. Put the legs under the wheel and the thread on the bolt with a coin over it to prevent any damage to the thread on the steering column. Then just slowly turn the handle until the steering wheel is released.

May take a couple of trys to get it off but it does work.

Re: Trying to remove a Overland Steering Wheel NEED HELP

Im assuming this is at a junkyard since your saying "i want this wheel" you may need to pound on the steering shaft with pressure on it with the puller.

So install the puller, put alot of pressure on it, if it doesnt pop with your lot of pressure, bang on the steering shaft that your pressing against. last wj wheel I saw pulled actually broke the steering wheel and it needed to be replaced.

Also iirc my WK wheel used a 2 bolt steering wheel puller, not a jaw type. you thread bolts into tapped holes in the wheel and it presses on the steering shaft.
