Re: vibration /rattle noise 2014 gc laredo

I solved my annoying non-metallic buzz!!! Please see the new thread I started, as this one seems to have several strategies emerging on possibly different rattles.

Re: vibration /rattle noise 2014 gc laredo

I'm glad that you found what is causing this noise. I only hope that is what is causing my noise as it's driving me nuts! I'll inspect my wires this weekend and let you know what I find. I still can't believe that Chrysler/Jeep has not issued a service bulletin for this issue as a lot of people are experincing this issue. Happy holidays!

Re: vibration /rattle noise 2014 gc laredo

I found another rattle source and fixed it. Very loud rattle emanating from a skid plate. Check out the thread in the general forum.

Re: vibration /rattle noise 2014 gc laredo

I have a 2014 jeep patriot with a clicking noise on the left side. After the third time at the dealership they pinpointed what they thought it was. They said it was an ac evap cord flapping against the firewall. Well a couple days later it came back. It doesn't do it all the time just when it wants to. The dealership won't look at it unless it is making that noise. It seems to get worse when it's cold.

Re: vibration /rattle noise 2014 gc laredo

I just received my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4 x 2, V6 back from a day and half at the dealer and they found that the transmission vent pipe was in contact with another hose? and just bent/moved it away and this solved the annoying vibration!!!! I directed them to this issue from previous post on this Forum....thanks guys!!!

Thanks for posting! My 2014 Overland is going to visit the dealer on Friday morning. Your video is exactly what mine has (although not as pronounced at this point). I will say it's progressively getting worse. I'll keep this link close by for them. Thanks again!

Re: vibration /rattle noise 2014 gc laredo

I have the same issue with my 2014 Cherokee purchased 12/2013. It's been back to the dealership 3 going on 4xs. The service manager has gone for a ride with me and has verified the sound as being abnormal. They added insulation tape to behind the dash but it has started again. They have a regional tech coming in this week to look at it. I was wondering if you fixed that guys jeep from your earlier post.

Re: vibration /rattle noise 2014 gc laredo

I don't. I've taken mine back twice. It'll be awhile before I take it a third time. This last time, I asked them to come get me so I could point out and replicate the noise before they "fixed" it. About an hour after sitting around, I went back into the shop and this jackwad had my dash torn down on the PASSENGER side. I blew a gasket and asked wtf? He said he was fixing my rattle over there. I said that's nice since I don't have one on my passenger side. Needless to say, I still have my dash rattle and it isn't the trans vent hose. We moved it and it's definitely not touching anymore.

Mine seems like a steering column area or directly behind it. As soon as it gets warm enough out, I'll troubleshoot it on my own at home.

To be completely honest, my dealer wasn't at all interested in finding or fixing the issue. They were just interested in moving me down the line. I have zero confidence in them and will avoid as much as possible.

I'll probably have another dealer do the service work.

If you learn anything, please share.

Re: vibration /rattle noise 2014 gc laredo

Oh yeh, I forgot to mention that I had to take it back the following Monday because of course I didn't notice it until a few days later, but they didn't properly re-install the dash. One of the vents had about a 3/4 inch gap. Like I said, I have zero confidence in their ability. David Stanley Chrysler Jeep Dodge, Midwest City, OK.

Im right with you with the dealership issues. I had previously posted that I was taking back in because they had a regional tech coming in to look at it. So I bring it in with all of the suggested repairs that I got from everyone on this site. Well, guess what..."We couldn't duplicate the problem" So too bad so sad for me. I asked them if they had looked at the transmission lines as suggested. Nope, because mine is a Cherokee not a GC and it is a different configuration. Anyway, it is still doing it. I am beginning to think it is definitely transmission related because of the amount of vibration I can feel coming up from through the center console in certain gears and rpms. I asked them to recalibrate the electronic shifting and was basically told to screw. I would love to go lemon law but there is no way under NYS lemon law I would qualify. I'll be doing the same as you and when it warms up, start troubleshooting it myself. If anything changes, I'll post it.
