Video of my engine noise- thoughts?

I'm worried it may be a lifter or something.

Re: Video of my engine noise- thoughts?

Its REALLY hard to tell but there really sounds to be some bottom end knocking to that, the 4l is a VERY noisy motor and it can run forever with horrible piston slap and noisy lifters, but there is a low knocking that sounds to be about the right speed for a connecting rod, I could be wrong, been wrong before... and that said worn bearings can be your low oil pressure concern.

Re: Video of my engine noise- thoughts?

The 4.0s had a problem with cracked exhaust manifolds and IIRC the 96+ blocks have a problem with piston slap/wrist pins. Many end up grenading

Piston slap / rods...that's my concern. I know they added 5w30, I'm gonna drain it out and put in 10w 40, see if that helps. I think worn bearings may very well be playing a part in this.

How do i check for exhaust leaks?
