I did just that but like I said in my last post, Chrysler use their own branded struts, and their black and their quite bigger. Looking at the hook part I can see it's not broken as it has tool marks where it was cut. It appear to have been factory installed.
I've been into my Jeep dealer and they have no idea what it could be. One theory was that it was to hold the brakes on during shipping to Australia - sounds logical but I really doubt it somehow
