I'm taking it to my friends shop. He's going to look at it one more time. I still think it's something else. If so, I'll order OEM Factory Parts and get it done.

I'm also going to change my Differential Fluid on Both Front/Rear Differentials. I need too.

Good video someone made of when you pop it into drive and reverse and that torque snap causes the clunk due to worn bushings. Real easy to diagnose and fix just visually look at those bushings

Re: WK 5.7 Transmission Grind/Clunk

Funny that you just asked.

The dealership changed them yesterday and it didn't fix anything. My bushings were shot and the tech showed it to me, but it didn't fix the problem. The tech said that clunking is normal, and I told him no it isn't, that's why its here to be fixed. He said its the rear differential engaging. I said it never made that noise before.

So I told them I'm not taking it back until they actually fix the problem.

They said it will be checked out on Tuesday. This is ridiculous.

Glad I'm not the only one with the problem. It's annoying more than anything.

Re: WK 5.7 Transmission Grind/Clunk

My friend works at this dealership and he said when I left, they brought my Jeep into the Garage, and he said that she (the customer service lady) heard the noise. He said that she said it sounded bad.

When I called up on Saturday (Yesterday) she told me that it was fixed and the noise it gone! <----That's how she said it. But when I got it, it was the same thing. The tech showed me the Front Differential Mount Bushings and he only replaced two out of the three, because he said those were the most common that went out.

I'm going to make sure they don't charge my for the Front Differential Mount Bushings....

You heard it in my video.

Tudds, can you post a video of yours so I can hear it myself?

Re: WK 5.7 Transmission Grind/Clunk

As for the 2/3 comment. I changed all 3 but the center metal bracket one was ruined. The other two were fine. I don't know if someone changed the round ones previously. They were really hard to get out.

Re: WK 5.7 Transmission Grind/Clunk

That's exactly how mine sounds! He showed me the Diff Bushings and they were shot. It felt smoother in the front, but it still make that noise.

It really sounds like something grinding.

Re: WK 5.7 Transmission Grind/Clunk

Try and see if it's coming from the Transfer Case when you shift it into Drive. Because I took it to my Uncles Shop and we lifted it in the air and when it Shifted int Drive youcould see the Transfer Case grinding/moving!

I thought that or a tranny mount. Sometimes it bangs on the floor.
