Re: Wk will not start after river crossing

Pull all the plugs and try turning over by hand as been suggested. The crank bolt is a 21mm. Use with a 1/2" rachet, breaker bar, or racheting torque wrench with a long handle for leverage. Should turn over pretty easy without any plugs.

Good Luck!

Too many mods to list for each, so let's just say a lot was done over the years.

Re: Wk will not start after river crossing

If you remove the plugs there is no harm in just winding it on the starter motor. You will be able to see if water sprays out of the cylinders much easier.

Re: Wk will not start after river crossing

i took the plugs out and saw some water in plug 1 and 8. i tried to turn it over and couldn't really get it to move so i had to take it to a shop and hopefully my engine will not be trashed.

Re: Wk will not start after river crossing

if you saw water in 2 of the cylinders its not going to be good. the firat turn of the key finished it off most likely

Re: Wk will not start after river crossing

Water in cylinders is very bad.

On the bright side, looks like it's time for a 392!

Just remember it's like Jaws!

Re: Wk will not start after river crossing

Water in 2 cylinders is definitely not good. It probably got finished off when you tried starting it....maybe you'll get lucky and only have a couple bent valves or something.

Re: Wk will not start after river crossing

just had the same problem, drove through a puddle and stalled. Everytime i tried to start it it would just click. DONT TRY TO CRANK IT ANYMORE! Since i kept trying to do it with mine, i blew my motor, ended up cracking the block, breaking a piston and putting a hole in the oil pan. Just leave it and take it to the pros. Good luck

Re: Wk will not start after river crossing

sorry to hear man, see if they can rebuild your engine instead if replacing the whole thing, unfortunately i cracked my block and tore up the inside so that wasnt an option for me. hope the best for you
