Post 1993 grand cherokie front axle

i have another one for you guys when i bought my jeep i was told that if i turn the tires to sharp the the front wheels would hop and this was do the the viscus copling later on i brought it to the jeep dealer and they told me that it was do to some possie inter locker that is in the fron axle that is is eletronic and it is lockes in the possie all the time and would never come out unless i replace the front end now this is whare it gets good so last winter i put affter market rims on my jeep had walmart do the job and when i was going to work the fron drivers side tire came off well i was on the hwy at 70mph do to this i had to have the front axle and suspenchen replaced at my cost walmart would not cover it but that is another story so affter i have all this work don that cost me over 1400.00 it still whell hops if i turn to sharp at low speeds what do you all think is the cuss of this and thank you all for your time

Eric, you have to type in english or we won't understand..lol. I know what ur talkin about, but I still believe that the viscous coupling is the problem.

i am not doubting you on this but i was told it is the lockers in the front diff i had all that changed out when i had my wreck last winter so it should be all good now but it still wheel hops if i turn to sharp

That probly means that the diff wasn't the problem and it is the viscous coupling, like my uncle, the Jeep mechanic told me when I had it. Just my opinion.

the coupling is in your transfer case. thats the problem. Guaranteed, even Jeep techs can be wrong.

so what your telling me is that its somthing to do with the t-case not the front end or steering collome ?

Correct, you need to pull the transfer case out and split it open. While you are there you might as well throw a fresh chain and bearings into the transfer case as well.

pull the front shaft out and see if it does it if it doesn't its the t case. buddies 98 did it and it was what unlimited is talking about. is it AWD?

that is to much work lol i don't have the time or cash to do that so it will have to wait till spring yes i pulled the front drive shaft out and wouldn't you know it it didn't do it 00unlimeted drove this truck around for a long time like this and to my knowledge he had no problems with it

As far as I know, it's not a huge problem that needs to be fixed immediately as much as it is just an inconvenience that should be fixed when you can. I'm sure that if left unchecked, it could do some damage over time, but it's nothing that is going to prevent you from driving it as is for the time being.
