block heater

OK so the other day i went out to start my 1993 it was 8 below zero out frigging could i had the block heater plugged in all night long and the jeep didn't want to start it would turn over but not fire took me a half hour to get it started and even with that it turned over real slow like the battery was going dead i know that the battery had to do with the cold but i question is that i don't think my block heater is working any more and i was wondering if any of you know if there is a way to test something like this with out having to take it out of the truck the block heater that is in mine is the freeze plug type so i don't want to have to take it out thank you all for reading this

might want to check the battery ... I live in TX and it got 20 here and mine did almost the same thing where it turned real hard got a new battery and works like a charm ...

the battery is a ;ittel bit more than a year old but ill look in to that

lol i do i live in Wisconsin and my jeep has over 210000 now so i like to keep the block warmer and warm it up in the morning as well but i don't think its working
