I have a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 5.2 V8

the jeep has been broken for months so just sitting there, we recently replaced the CPS and the ignition coil...it finally turned over and has been working for this past week, NOW it won't turn over. it will just crank and crank but won't turn over. we've put a lot into this thing already and if we can't fix it soon we will have to junk it for cash towards a different car.

PLEASE HELP.

Without a lot mire detail, and the problem description being it just won't start, you can get a lot of guesses, and hope that one is correct.

You might save time and money by having it checked by a qualified mechanic.

Short of that, see if there are any codes stored that might suggest a cause.

Good Luck

There are some basics that you can check yourself beginning with the basics of an internal combustion engine. For an engine to run you need air, fuel and spark. Have you checked to see if you are getting spark? Do you have any "check engine" codes? If you have not checked for codes that would the first place to begin. Click here to learn how:

When I'm having that issue (and it's caused by a couple of things), I'll flutter the gas pedal to open up the throttle body and keep cranking till I hear it catch. I've got some issues to clear up, but this "technique" seems to work for me. HTH till you find out what's wrong.

Little update on my starting issue. I Traced all vacuum lines in the engine bay, fixed all un-connected/broken lines. Made sure I put the rubber vac line that goes from the cruise control module to the bottome of the battery tray vacuum box. Properly connected vac lines @ the charcoal canister. New fuel pump (test pressure port on fuel rail) to remedy some weak fuel pressure @ rail. New coil. I had done a tune up earlier & replaced plugs/wires/distr. & rotor button, but didn't swap coil.
