replacing trans

i have a 93 grand cheroke with the quadra track transfer case i justr bought a 94 with the select trac my question it will it bolt up with no problems they both are bolted to the 4.0 i6 will i be able to use the 2wheel to 4wheel shift or will it be all time like the quadra trac

reference:
242=selectrac=2hi, 4Part time, 4all time, n, 4lo
249=quadratrac=4hi, n, 4lo
you can, in theory, use the selec trac in all wheel drive mode, and it will "act" like the quadra trac in AWD mode. the difference is you are way more likely to get stuck in the 242 AWD mode than the 249 standard AWD mode. the 242 AWD mode is "open" and the 249 AWD (normal operating mode) is pretty much locked if the VC is out, and 50/50 if its good. if the input shafts are the same, just use your old transfer case on the new trans. the linkage will need to be adjusted a lot if you use your old one, or if you can get the linkage from the ehice that the 242 came from it should just bolt up.

i didnt have to rreplace the trans i still have the spare one and probly wont ever use it but it was a plunger in the valve body 15.00 to fix took about three hr to do but all is well now working great

what was the trans doing before you changed the plunger in the valve body?
