So... I bought a 5.9

I've always wanted one, since I first laid eyes on one in 98. This one kinda fell in my lap.. 76k miles. Hardly driven. Everything seems to work. Don't know what I'm gonna do with it yet... But I'm glad to call it mine.

That's a possibility.... My 97 is just finished with a 3" ready for trails. Don't need 2 just yet.

Re: So... I bought a 5.9

Please don't hack it up for off road! especially being in good shape, they didn't make enough of them in the first place.

For off road, there are far better models to start from--where you can always add power but you cannot add classic.

That thing is the spiritual grandaddy of the SRT and if cherried out should make a good investment you can drive the bejazuz out of.

I hate to suggest what to do with anyone else's ride, but I gotta go with 4.Whoa here.

Re: So... I bought a 5.9

I agree, dont tear it apart and make it an offroad jeep. Keep your 5.2 for that and make this a street machine.

Gotcha beat on the miles. My 5.9 has 64,000

Re: So... I bought a 5.9

The '98 ZJ pcm is probably the most aggressive factory pcm tune I've seen. Hopefully SCT will have the new X3 dodge tuner avail in the next week to month so we can start tuning these 5.2 and 5.9's again. I've got some really nice ZJ tunes if ur ever interested (when the X3 tuner device is finally ready)

So... I bought a 5.9

hi guys I know this shouldn't be here but I desperately need a help

i'm new to this site but not to jeep and my English lang not so good .....

i bought a jeep 1998 5.9 with 180000km on it it looks great runs smooth but when i turn a full steering feels like something holding the car from moving i have to give a little gas to push it on which makes one of the wheels spin . i took off the front shaft now runs OK but still feels a little like before

one of my friends got 5.2 had such an issue he changed t-case now his jeep runs great . should i do the same? any help will be highly appreciated
