Won't start

Hi I got jeep grand charokee 95, i just charged the battery put it back and it won't start, the ignition is turning over but engine won t jump, also when I connect the wires to battery headlights start flushing and I can t turn it off. Only way is to disconnect battery. Anyone here who knows the reason?

if the lights are flashing and it wont start, it seems theres an aftermarket alarm system installed that is preventing the car from starting. once the alarm has been removed, check the spark and fuel delivery.

The 95 will flash the lights if the battery is failing or is just too low a voltage.

The OP should get a cheap voltmeter and do some voltage checks under load or just take the battery to a seller and get it properly tested.

It may take a skin effect charge, but not be able to handle the load.
Only way to check a battery is to put a load on it and then measure the voltage.

Re: Won't start

look under the dash area look for a valet reprogram button to disable the alarm.
