Re: 2003 wj 2.7 crd check engine light on

had number 5 injector change a while back
i have look at injectors and there is just the usual dirt and junk round the gave a squart of brake cleaner to clean them off and i have no signs of visible leaks what other way would you sudgest checking then

i have cleaned nearly all the electrical connections out with cleaner and the only 1 that made some sort of differenc was the air flow meter i also took this off and cleaned it with cleaner as the car did get started a thew times with deodernt due to faulty injector and it had scummed up the maf meter after cleaning it the engine light when out and ran ok for a bit but now runs like a turd again
eg hesitant pull off and some smoke and light comes back on but then u can stop it lock it unlock it then the lights off sometimes
thanks for any help

Re: 2003 wj 2.7 crd check engine light on

Sorry for very short suggestion. What I meant was that injectors can and will leak to cylinders causing low pressure in the rail. That will caused hesitation during acceleration, as well as possible engine shut down. I had similar symptoms on my 2.7 CRD before it went to my son. Two injectors were bed (leaking internally). Other problem with same result will be bad fuel pressure sensor and fuel return valve. Sensor is in front of the common rail and valve is on the back of the common rail.

Re: 2003 wj 2.7 crd check engine light on

will have a go at checking these with my mates leak down injector tester thingy
but first i am just waiting on an airflow meter as i have unpluged this and the car is like new no hisitation on acceleration not sudden loss of power and no smokeing just dont rev past 2500 for safty but my work is only 3 miles away so for now it cabn stay like this till new 1 arrives

this was a simple test sugested buy 2 mechanics this is the problem

bought a new 1 of the bay for 50 plus 12 month warrenty so dont mind throwing that little bit of money away to try it

it was 4 and 5 injector that was changed and the others tested and were fine
this was around 8-9 months ago and the car had sat around not moving till last month but the first week drove brand new then the light came on and was a turd

i did find a lot of anti persperant build up on the air flow metre from using this to start it when the injector was down
so thinking it contaminated the airflow and fudged it
will post up the out come of with new air flow metre when here

Re: 2003 wj 2.7 crd check engine light on

update
got new air flow and still had problems but was a faulty air flow so the company changed it with no problems at all got the new 1 been on over a week done over 300 miles and jeep has been fine
so airflow was the main issue
all the other faults code i think may have come up due to being unplgged to do injectors but car works so nomore fiddleing
