Front discs issue.

I have had the brake pads replaced but I have a shuddering if braking from a high speed. Around town it does not shudder when braking. It has been suggested that this could be because the front discs are warped.

Would this be correct and if so any particular brand they should be replaced with that are reasonably priced and are of a reasonable quality? Thanks.

Re: Front discs issue.

Sounds like warped rotors. If your just a daily driver have them replaced at any local brake shop.

Re: Front discs issue.

Thanks. I sort of suspected it might be warped rotors. We have a number of different brands over here so will have to suss out which is reasonably priced for longevity and performance.
Jeep dealer quoted £141 (US$216) for a pair of Mopar front discs, but not sure how good Mopar are in comparison to other brands. Saw these on eBay for £100 (US$152) and then these for £60 (US$92).

Re: Front discs issue.

The OEM brake rotors are pretty decent I like the way the replacements come packaged and they have that coating that lasts about a year or so before the hat and the edges start to show rust.

I have never used mintex rotors but I liked the brake pads they make so I am sure the mintex rotors should be a good quality as well.
