My most recent CRD mod...

Dude can you do me a favour, i have also got a 3.0 CRD can you take a picture of the area surround the headlamps with the hood open? I want to change my bulbs, but i cant get my hand to the bulbs to pull them out.

Yours looks different, almost like you have not got covers or something. can you get your hands to the bulbs easily and pull them out?

No. The tolerances between the pipes that fit into each other were too big. No matter how hard I would crank down the clamps they wouldn't fully seal the pipes together and hold them rigid. Had to buy some different band clamps that were 3x3. 3" diameter and 3" long that overlap both pipes and seals much better. Also the factory system uses 4 exhaust hangers. The MBRP system just reuses 2 that came from the factory. With that setup the exhaust would sag and bang against the rear axle when I went over bumps. After I bought new clamps and a stronger rubber exhaust hanger for the mid-pipe it seems to have helped.

If this is the cover you are talking about, they did away with the covers after model year 2006 (here in the states at least).

The best picture I have as its already dark out, if this doesn't answer your question, I can get more pix tomorrow.

I believe the covers are easily removed by pulling up on the back and pulling reward. However I do not believe they will assist you in replacing the bulbs. Even without the covers I still have to access the headlights from the back which is hampered by the battery on the left and the airbox on the right. In my setup with the cone air filter, the right bulbs are now easy to access.

I wish, I don't have a video camera just my DSLR. I can say; its slightly louder than stock even though its a "straight pipe" design with no muffler (not to many people even realize I have a modified exhaust) as the DPF does most of the muffling of the sound.

IMO, its great. It provides a slightly more audible and deeper exhaust note without being overbearing or annoying. With the windows up, it is hardly noticeable. I would not be happy with an exhaust like this on a sports car (had a B&B Triflo on my 300ZX TT and it was a loud distinct tone), but for a daily driven Grand Cherokee, its perfect!

MBRP is a Canadian manufacturer. I contacted them a while back and the price was great but I never followed up to make the order.

Here is the email address for the rep I emailed

Re: Grand Cherokee CRD performance thread

thank you.. I will check that out. I priced one out at Stripetech here in Calgary and it was a bit pricey compared to what I have seen elsewhere on the net. Why did you choose the CCV3500 Racor filter system instead of the CCV4500? Hey USN, did you have the fitment issues CRD DAWG was talking about?
