Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR)
I have a 2012 CRD 4x4 Limited with Off Road Pack (18" rims running Mickey T's) and Quadra Lift. I tow a 3500 Kg ATM off roader van.
The GVWR in the Jeep manual says 2949 Kg's.
I just weighed the car (without van attached) with two occupants (155 Kg's), some gear in the back (40 Kg's), full tank of diesel and the tow hitch (18.2 Kgs) on the car. This came to 2,691 Kg's.
If I add the vans ball weight 260 Kg's this comes to 2951 Kg's.
My question is the manual states 2949 Kg's for the "standard" Jeep which is without Quadra Lift.
Has anyone found out if the Quadra Lift allows the GVWR to be increased?
Interestingly, if the kerb weight 2191 Kg's is added to my occupants, gear and tow hitch, diesel (93 Kg's). oil (10 Kg's), coolant (13.2 Kg's) add the 260 Kg's ball weight this comes to 2680 Kg's.
This means the Quadra lift and Off road pack weighs 269 Kg's.
PS. If you have Quadra Lift, Jeep states that you do not need to use a weight distribution hitch.
