gutted mine this morning took about an hr start to finish.. turbo spool up time is ALOT better!

Sorry to bump and old post but... looking at this piece, would it not be best to just replace it with generic boost hose from your local ricer shop? Its a length with a 45 at the end... would be dirt cheap and be better overall.

I realize that this isnt a firebreathing monster but every little bit counts. That piece with the muffler removed could be so much better if it was a smooth pipe. The amount of turbulence induced into the flow would be crazy. Imagine how much better it would flow with a proper pipe in there instead of a gutted stock piece.

Im away at work for another month or i would go look at this myself.

another person at street jeeps dot net did this mod, he used a piece of hose from a CAT I believe. It took him quite a while to get it to hold the seal, something to do with the clamps. So it can be done.
