Hi all from Sydney, Australia.
Just saw the international list )))

I have a Jeep Grand WH 3 lte Turbo CRD.
Lately a few thing have started happening which I think are connected somehow..

Firstly, My cabin heat seems to play up... by that i mean it used to take less than a minute for the
heat to blow out for the demister. Now I need to play with the Temp Nob until it decides to change to hot...
Could take up to 5 minutes... by this time I have ice forming on my eyebrows..

Now the second thing that has happened is the water TEMP now runs a lot hotter than normal.
It will go to three quarters at which time the huge fans cut in.

Now here is the confusing bit.....
If I turn on the cabin heat..... and It finally decides to blow hot air , the engine Temp immediately returns back to normal.
If I turn off the heat..... the engine water temp starts to warn up back to 3/4...

I'm Guessing its the Thermostat .......

Does anyone know where I would find the Thermostat in a Jeep ?

Your thoughts...

Thanks

ROB

Rob, I've never done it on my Jeep but have done it on several other vehicles I have owned when it was straight forward. You'll need a gasket or make your own from some good quality gasket paper. You can use the old gasket as your template if you take care in removing it.

The engine temp going down when the heat is on could be the heater core in the Jeep acting as a second radiator. Just a guess. Good Luck!
