Btw any issues from the dealer during services?
I can't remember exactly but I measured the OEM hose from the manifold to the air intake and ordered some hoses 1" (25mm)and (19mm) and ended up getting a silicone reducer from 1" (25mm) to 3/4" (22mm) off eBay.

I think I also need to get a silicone elbow 25mm to 19mm for the connection from the manifold to the top of the filter/can because I just used a plastic elbow that wasn't really designed for auto work. Silicone is the go because it can take both the oil and the heat. Obviously there are the usual varied sized hose clamps to fit.

As for the dealer, I just put the Grand in for its 20K service and I pick it up tomorrow so we'll see what they say. I don't think they can say much because it doesn't effect the performance of the vehicle and in fact it helps prolong engine life.

Hope I've helped.

Clarkey.

Correy,

There were no issues with the dealer. As for fitting, I ended up bolting (on a slight diagonal) to the lower half of the air intake box.

I could only get one bolt on but I used a split washer and it seems to be holding ok. If it needs tightening I just unclip the top & take out the filter. I couldn't find anywhere else to put it.

Cheers,

Clarkey.

I've just bought a Provent for my pending delivery. I know the diameter of the Provent pipes is 1", but can anyone tell me the diameter of the outlet of the rocker cover outlet, and the turbo inlet pipes please?

As far as I'm aware they're all 1" (25mm).
Cheers,
Clarkey.

Re: Post your Provent/Racor setups

Inside diameter of the end of the hose that goes to the ccv is 1".

Inside diameter of the end of the hose that goes to the air intake tube is 7/8".

Thanks Clarkey and Suzieque. So I take it that the job can be done with, say, one 1" to 7/8" adapter in the return line to the turbo?

Thanks again.

Re: Post your Provent/Racor setups

I have two 2005 crd s and found that the GDE flash and the EHM made the issue "acceptable" to me. I waited for about two years to get the mod which not the smartest thing I ve done.

Re: Post your Provent/Racor setups

I will be buying a CRD shortly, on our current car I have a Elite Catch Can which is on a Holden VE SS.

Pls correct me if I am wrong but I should be able to use that Catch Can on the CRD with no problems.

Both our V8's have Catch Cans and i would never think of running a motor without one after I have seen what they collect.

This is our first foray into the diesel world so not sure, would rather pull it off and reuse it.

Cheers

Chocco,
This was my first diesel too and I'm glad I put the catch can in after seeing how much oil it has stopped re-entering the intake manifold.

The only issues I found was having to get the correct size reducing silicone hoses (eg 25mm to 19mm etc) from eBay and finding a place to mount it.

I got a Provent and the only place I could fit it was bolted diagonally on the air intake box.
