Re: Rust proofing
I do my own coating of the undercarriage. I make sure I don't clog up drain holes. But there really isn't many on the undercarriage. I also do a good undercoating in the door jambs and places that stuff can settle. I usually body color over it so its not so noticeable. They use salt like it's going out of style in my area so it keeps my underside looking much better. As far as paint I just do a good wax job about once a year and wash it when it gets dirty. I have done this for years and have had good results. I had a 94 Ford Ranger and the body had zero rust and the underside was pretty good for its age when I sold it last year.
