Re: Turbo oil leak (probably)

OK, for the PCV. What's common oil consumption on CRD's. Mine is 1l per 1000 miles. I think it's huge.

Re: Turbo oil leak (probably)

that does sound excessive to me, unless you drive full speed all the time.

my dealer says to make sure you don't overfill the diesel, they advise keeping it half way between the marks.

Normal consumption is ~1 l per 20000 km. As recommendation use Mobil 1 ESP 5W-30. Lately Mercedes is using 5W-40 in our engines.
From your pictures you found a problem : ORANGE SEAL. Change with one recommended bysuzique will solve the oil leak.

Re: Turbo oil leak (probably)

Did not have time to go further but even if it's an easy task I'll give it to the jeep dealer to try to change it under warranty.

My WK has no DPF and the owner manual mentions 10w40 for diesel engine.
I also noticed that my air filter is very dirty decreasing for a given airflow the pressure at the entry of the BBy hose.
Does anyone has a schematic of the PCV?

Re: Turbo oil leak (probably)

Well, my Jeep has 65K miles, and the ETC and Check engine light came on. Took it to the dealer, they checked it out, and are telling me swirl motor, as well as possibly the intake plenums! $3500!!

Started a link here:

Heading to the dealer tomorrow to start building a case against Chrysler for this, I need them to pick up some, if not all of the expense to repair, this is way to much cashola for me.

Pretty sure the DPF's were not added until 07 when the CRD was also available in North America. 05-06 UK models would not have had a DPF and would spec different oils. Time to get a hold of a proper owners manual matching your model year.

Re: Turbo oil leak (probably)

Hi everyone,

Just got my jeep back from the dealer. He replaced the orange seal intake and bby pipe with the black seal one. They did not find any other leak. Two things crazy:
o the price of the component 200$ here in France
o I've already gave them once my jeep to find this oil leak they did not find it and when I told him where it came from it seemed obvious to him...

Thank you guys for your help!
