The 07 WK CRD was sold as an Overland or Limited, with a MSRP a few thousand less than the same year ML320 with the same engine.

in 2008 the laredo WK was offered in the higher optioned package over the base laredo with the CRD.

I bought my wifes 08 Laredo off the lot with a diesel. $29,850 New June 08

The new 3L MV Motori CRD diesel is a European design. European deisel fuel is "sweeter" than US fuel i.e. lower sulphur content. Further development may be required before releasing the MV Motori in the USA.

I ordered a CRD Overland, bright silver 3 Mar 2012 delivery June? (its going to be a loooong 3 months I think) The recovery hook removal is a direct result of Eur involvement (ANCAP) with the GC design, bloody pedestrians

Re: Why do we have to wait till 2013 for CRD?

Chrysler sourced engines = bigger profits?

Diesel more economical = lower profits for petrol retailers?

Emission restrictions hit diesels & delay launch until meet regulations?

EU & world more accepting of Diesels?

Interesting stuff. All I know is that I have always been excited about the JGC CRD. I just got one a couple of weeks ago and I love it. '07 Grand Cherokee CRD 2wd Limited. At the moment, I am planning on upgrading late 2013 early 2014, to the new one, so I can get it slightly used. Unless my job keeps going well, I just might order one.... ya never know....

The problem is they only offered the WK with the diesel in the US in the Overland model the most expensive model WK so of course not many people that wanted a diesel bought one cause not everyone can afford an overland. But if they offered it in a laredo they might sell more because more people can afford it.
I have a 07 Limited Crd
