Re: A good buffer

those are the exact compounds i use for my correction, UC,UP,UW. I love em!

Dont forget to purchase a sealant as well(i use blackfire diamond sealant). That will protect the paint for up to 6-8 months.

The pads...
burgunding(cutting) i would only use that if you have deep swirls/scratches.
Yellow (polishing) for UC and UP
Black (finishing) for Sealant and wax

I would get an extra yellow and black pad (never used the burgundy, no need i clean my jeep weekly) just incase(once you drop a pad, dont use em) and a crapload of microfiber towels to wipe off each compound.

And your truck shows it.. Damn, your rig is fine as hell..

That last compound you referenced (for sealant) when do you apply that? I am assuming after the wax and polish, but just making sure.

As for removing each layer (wax, polish etc) do you just put the microfiber towel on the DA and just go over the car again?

Thanls for the help guys.. Man, my wife thinks I'm crazy for getting excited to detail her..

Last question, what do you recommend for shining up the tires?

A good buffer

Depends on your goals, but I have the Meguiars DA system and use it with my Dewalt drill and it works great. I typically like to wax by hand I only use that for paint cleansing. I keep on top of my detailing, so there is never that much correction that needs done.

As far as removing the wax/polish, use a towel the polisher is only meant for applying.

This is from a coat with the DA system and some dodo juice.

Appreciate it!

Sealant goes after the polish. It will be UC-UP-Sealant-Wax. After application, i usually let it sit overnight(cure time of 12+hrs) and take it off the next day and then apply the wax.

As for removing the layers, I do it by hand with the microfiber towel.
For tires...i use simple green to strip off any old tire shine and then meguiars hot shine aerosol spray

If you're excited now...wait till you finish the detail. It will look like GLASS!

Yea.. I have never used a clay bar on her, but I figure no time like the present. Man, the next nice weekend I am going to be giving her the business..

Since the paint is still in perfect shape (garage kept) I wonder if I even need to use the ultimate compound.

Re: A good buffer

I wouldn't use a compound on a new finish......wash it, clay it, use a paint cleanser or cleaner wax and then use your wax/sealant.
