I am not a huge fan of detail sprays in general. I have not waxed (yes carnauba...he's gone right?) my GC in 6 months so it is in need desperately. I thought, I have some Adams Detail Spray, why not spray her down after I wash? So I did and I have to tell you I really like this stuff! The smell is ridiculous. Like Bazooka Joe on steroids. Couple of squirts and wipe down a panel and crystal clear no streaks at all (that is why I do not typically like detail spray.) Even the plastic around the fender wells looks like I put some kind of dressing on them. It is so good I thought I would try an experiment, I sprayed some on my shirt and walked around our living room. My wife asked if I had lost some weight cause I looked hot. I have the gallon size on order.

Maybe a little off subject but I have ordered a bunch of stuff from ADAM's. Just received them and I'm impressed with the quality so far without using them. Just wondering why you don't make all the microfiber products white instead of blue? A quote from you.
"After years of trying towels with color, we finally had a "d'uh!" moment and tried a microfiber fabric without color. Wouldn't you know it, the fabric dye in our previous towels was keeping the towel from being, well, perfect! Our new Adam's Great White Drying Towel hits the mark. It's our best drying towel yet, and we think the best you will find anywhere".
It rained this morning and I had beads everywhere. Certainly not as tight as a good paste wax but a ton none the less. Does the detail spray have some type of protection as well?
It has a VERY small amount of wax in it. Not really enough to add any additional protection, but enough to enhance/extend the life of whatever product you already have on there.
After the review from BuckeyeSRT and some research of my own I ordered the Adam's Detail Spray and two microfiber towel combo pack. Received yesterday and had the day off today so after a good wash I applied this stuff and all I can say is WOW!! The detail spray goes on so easy and leaves an incredible shine on both the paint & the trim. Great stuff!
I may have to look into this. I currently use the MEguiars Ultimate QD. Only thing I dont like is you will have to make 2 pass with the MF towel. Wipe and a light buff.
No
That is another one of the reasons I didn't like most QD's I though why should I go through the hassle of going back over the car when I could just wax it with the same effort.
I used the Adams Detail Spray yesterday, for the first time. I really wasn't noticing any difference as I was drying the Jeep. But, my neighbor was driving by and stopped to ask what I was using. He said the Jeep (he said car) never looked so good. He sees it every day. After I finished and stepped back, it did look really nice.
I wasn't as thrilled with the micro fiber cloth. It kept getting caught on the Grand Cherokee letters on the sides of the Jeep. I had to keep cutting pulled threads off it. I guess it's because the letters are not totally flush against the panels. I have washed the Jeep around around 20 times and my old Cannon bath towels never got caught on anything, The micro fiber will be reserved for windows, auto and home.
Bill, I'm assuming you're referring to the Great White Drying Towel snagging on the letters?
If so, that's just the nature of any waffle weave towel because of their design. Since they use a closed-weave, they are very absorbent, but are susceptible to snagging on any sharp surface.
On the other hand, a plush microfiber (or bath towel or similar) towel is an open-weave, so there's nothing but open threads to snag on anything.
Take a little more care around those sharp edges and you'll have great success. Our drying towels are much safer than even the softest cotton towel on your paint, don't give up on it yet!
How much are you guys using as your drying process. I found I went through half the 16oz bottle. That works out as an expensive way to dry my car. Did I over do it?
I tried this for the first time tonight, and it made a huge difference in drying the car down.
It probably also helped that I used a better wash (sorry not Adams Shampoo, I have a bottle that will be used for washes after waxing) and then did the final sold stream rinse as per the Adams video.
It was drying up much quicker, and I didn't feel the need for a two cloth style dry and polish. One pass did the trick. It felt very slick afterwards. Unfortunately as I started drying in the dark, it was hard to see the final finish.
I purchased a Gallon bottle that will make it more economical, and the 16oz was free from a local Adams promotion. I may get their last 5 gallon container.
Holy moly.....yeah you should need nowhere close to half a bottle, especially if you are just using it as a drying aid. A couple sprays on every panel should do the trick.
I just 2/3 of a bottle of the chem guys detail spray as the lube while claying the car, so yeah, half a bottle to dry seems crazy overkill.
About to wash and dry again before glazing, sealing then waxing, I will be far more sparse with it second time around.
Drying a car in the dark, even with Adams detailing spray, does not give you the best results. It was pretty good, but there was a patch here and there I missed. Buffed of easily this morning.
The two different drying towel supplied in the Chem Guys kits, while not complete and under crap, are far from good, getting some decent ones will help.
Second time around after the claying and I used about 15-20% of a bottle.
I did use the Adams video as a reference for application, and she does get pretty liberal in the amount used.
Now that the car has finally had a proper clean and wax, it should be far easier to wash and dry, and I can see no more than two per panel will do the job.
Do the Kwazar bottles make a difference in the ability to apply it more broadly per spray?
They definitely do. It atomizes it better, allowing for a finer application. The kicker with the Kwazars is that since it sprays when you pull the trigger AND release it, you need to move your hand faster so you don't apply too much.
Just a small technique tweak from standard bottles, the Kwazars are AWESOME!
I imagine it is like all things Adam's they like to keep colour codes to make it easy for the user to differentiate the item and what it used for.
Eg, Waterless wash towel is blue to suit waterless wash liquid, same for glass cleaning cloth, both blue.
White cloth for final buffing, grey for application.
Or maybe not. But I like to have different colours for this reason, to know that one colour is for one purpose, while the other for another.
I love Adams Detail Spray. I am so amazed by how easy it is to spray on and wipe off with amazing results. I just got done hitting my JGC Summit with some today and it really made a huge difference.
