Re: Best tire dressing??

I bought a bottle of the Endurance spray to try out, it's good, but I'm sticking with my Hyperdressing. I think it looks more natural, doesn't look oily at all, no matter how much you put on. Water based comes off paint or wheels super easy, it's way way way way way cheaper, and it's just spray and forget, no wiping needed, at all, ever. Unlike with the Endurances spray.

There's a reason it's used all the time by pro detailers, it's the best.

Remember, it's $40 shipped, but it makes a few gallons. Once you compare that you're paying $7 a bottle for the off the shelf stuff, you're getting a much better deal with this product. There is a reason it's a professional line product vs. their off the shelf Wal-Mart line.

It's also great for mixing 1 part product with 3-4 parts water and spraying it on the engine parts. Leaves a nice satin finish on all the stuff. You would not want to do that with the Endurance spray or any other silicone based products.

For tires you can use it 1:1 for super shiny or 1:2 or 1:3 depending on how shiny you like it. I mix it up a lot, but usually do one part product with 2-3 parts water to get a good mix between shine and value.

Coolest thing is, you can touch the tires and get black oily crap all over you or your car.

You probably used too much Endurance. I like the fact that Endurance DOES NOT come off when driving in the rain and there is NO sling.

I really think you used too much.

Re: Best tire dressing??

Using Endurance in the spray bottle allows you to control the shine.

Re: Best tire dressing??

Guys, I do high end detailing. I'm very confident that I know how to use tire dressings. I've made the statement in this thread, even, that if it slings off you're using too much. I'm not using too much, and I'm not knocking the product. I'm just saying that Hyperdressing is better in that it's more cost effective, easier to apply and not have to worry about getting too much on the tires cause it's water based and it evaporates, and it's a nicer more natural looking finish.

I've tried the product you guys are pimping in both it's forms on several cars. Have any of you tried the product I'm talking about yet????

Yes, what you're using is the best stuff you can buy at Wal-Mart, but until you have actually tired what I'm talking about, how can you think it's better or worse.

I say again, there is a reason Hyperdressing is in Meguiar's professional line and Endurance is sold at Wal-Mart. Professional detailers that know what they are doing do NOT use silicone based tire dressings for several reasons.

Again, not knocking the Endurance, just trying to show you a better option, especially for guys with big tires, you need to give it a try.

Spray it on, roll forward until the bottom of the tire is at the top, spray that area, walk away. When it dries you have a nice uniformed black, shiny, new looking tire, with no sling, no hand wiping it, no gunked up white letters from the application pad, and it's a fraction of the cost.

Just trying to show you that there is stuff other than the stuff at Vatozone and Wally world

Re: Best tire dressing??

Now, if you want to spend some money and have a silicone based product that will stand up to water and last for a really long time. And is also the best shit in the world for any of your trim, air dam, bumper pad, etc. etc.

http://www.autogeek.net/ultima-tire-...hannelid=FROOG

This stuff is amazing. I think it's too expensive to use on tires, but for trim you cannot beat it. It beads water like the trim has been waxed. It literally lasts for months even in weather. I use it on my rubber trim, mirrors, front and rear bumpers (plastic and rubber parts), etc.

It blows Back to Black and the likes out of the water. You can take this stuff and make a faded Wrangler hardtop look like it's brand new in minutes.

Re: Best tire dressing??

I don't have any experience with either product but will post my findings written by a meguiars tech on the meguiar forums.

"Hyper dressing is a great product but was designed for high volume shops, detail shops who are cranking out hundreds of cars per week or month. Being a water based dressing it has its benefits, diluteable (sp?) and having great gloss, however won't last as long as a solvent base dressing.

Our Endurance brand is designed to last weeks not days and is a solvent based dressing so you will get much more durability out of Endurance vs Hyper dressing."

Re: Best tire dressing??

Endurance does last longer, yes.

Does it look better, no

Is it cheaper, hell no

Is it easier to apply, no

Is it less messy, no

Is it easy to get it off of parts you don't want it on, hell no

Is it better for your tires in the long run, no

That being said, if I was doing some low profile tires, sure, I'd throw on some endurance if I had it laying around. But for bigger tires with lots of rubber, hell no, I'm not going to mess with spending more money on a product that I have to rub on a big ass tire with an applicator (really causing a mess if you have white letters) when I can pay less money and just spray on some Hyperdressing and walk away.

Hyperdressing only comes off if you drive in rain, if it's heavy rain then the endurance will not last too long either. Hell, I don't know about you guys, but if I drive in rain, it's time for another cleaning anyway. During that cleaning I'll take 30 seconds and re-spray with a few cents worth of Hyperdressing and be done with it.

Again, both are good products, I'm just wanting to let you guys (especially those of you with lot's of rubber) know that there is a better, cheaper, easier, alternative that most Wal-Mart detail supply shoppers don't know about.
