Re: Best tire dressing??

My number 1 issues with tire dressings is how long they last. I like the stuff that last for a long time.

Re: Best tire dressing??

I might give hyper a try too. If I dont like it then I'll try something else after.. Worth a try definitely.

Re: Best tire dressing??

I think you guys are going to like it. I'll never go back to silicone based stuff again on my vehicles. Just be sure to clean all the old stuff off before you use this, it's like mixing oil based paint with water based paint if you don't.

Mix it one part Hyperdressing to, let's say 2 parts water, to see how you like that finish. More concentrated for shiny tires, less for satin finish, but that's a good starting point to see what you think.

#1 Clean tires completely
#2 Spray on generously
#3 Pull forward or back up enough to move the bottom of the tire to the top
#4 Spray the parts you missed the first time
#5 Let it dry completely

Re: Best tire dressing??

I know you said not to say armor all, but theres one kind that comes with a sponge called Armor All Tire Shine, you squirt some in the sponge and apply it around. It keeps the tires looking new and lasts about 5 days

Re: Best tire dressing??

Just wanted to toss a warning out there to everyone that tire wet will F your carpet up. I had a bottle of EagleOne tire wet with the applicator pad attached to the bottle. It fell over in transit and bubbled up the carpet on the spare tire cover (thankfully). It REALLY messed up the carpet, it has raised as much as a few inches and it spread in a 10 inch circle around the spill spot. I tried soaps and several other cleaners to remove immediately after the spill- nothing worked. So be CAREFUL WITH TIRE WET

Re: Best tire dressing??

Yes those silicone based dressing can be harmful to your tires and more. If you want a great value on a good dressing the Meguiar's Hyper Dressing D170 is an excellent choice. If you want the longest lasting option I have never found anything even close to the durability of the TUF SHINE Tire Clearcoat (or pick up the whole TUF SHINE Tire Appearance Kit. This dressing looks awesome and the gloss will last months, not weeks or days like most others. Check out this article to see some pictures and learn more this product - http://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-P...tuf-shine-inc/.

Take care!

Re: Best tire dressing??

I actually used the Meguiars hot foam! pretty cool stuff, since you spray it on and it just eats all the dirt and leaves a shine

bad news is, the can barely has enough for three rounds on a car, and it doesn't last long at all. probably gonna give that hyperdressing a shot on your recommendation DKS

Best tire dressing??

Any updates on Hyperdressing? Maybe some images to see. I picked up a can of Endurance and used an applicator pad to put it on. I was afraid of any overspray getting on the wheels (hard to clean off, smudges).

Here is a pic of Endurance (in the morning sun). I'll get another pic in the parking lot later and post.

Re: Best tire dressing??

Without reading through them all, I've used Tuff shine, and it lasted a very long time, and stayed black. Not really shiny, but after an Ohio winter, 2 coats left the tires with a nice dark black look, a simple wash and the tires were clean.
On that note, I switched to Gtechniq T1. On my charger, I put 2 coats on when new, and topped it up 6 months later, even driving in rain, etc. I lasted as well or better than Tuff shine after this past winter(one of the worst in years), and in April, I washed the tires with just tire soap, and they still had some shine, nice and black clean look.
What I like is, one coat, nice shine, and in about 10 minutes it's cured. You can layer it up and you'll have great shine for months. NO fling, dry to touch, no dust sticking, etc. It will get dirty, put just wash it with some of your car wash, and it's clean. It will bead water for a good while too.
What's more, it's designed as a trim protectant too. Will not "run" after a rain down the side of the car. I treated my trucks tonneau with it, and the water beads awesome, and didn't have streaks of dirt and goo down the bed after it rained. I put about 3k miles a month on my truck in all sorts of environments, quick pressure wash, and the tires are clean.
The bottle goes a long way too. Like Tuff shine, make sure the tires are clean, if they're a little brown, your applicator will be dirty, and you'll seal in the brown stain or dirt.
