Cleaning Light Scratches On Front Windshield

Well, I got a little overzealous at the gas station trying to get my front windshield clean on a long drive this week. And I have some small areas of light scratching (about 2 spots roughly 2" in diameter). It's very light nothing like a rock ding or anything like that. I am wondering what a good product and method for cleaning this up is. Seems like a lot of liquids out their and thought it best to ask before I just go out and waste 10 bucks on something that won't work.

Griots makes a glass polish and pads for an orbital that you could try.. I haven't tried to use it for scratches, so YMMV..

Re: Cleaning Light Scratches On Front Windshield

When I had my Kawasaki Voyager touring bike, it like most all touring bikes, had a Polycarbonate windshield. It scratched easily. You could really see it when you rode into the Sun. Most all motorcycle shops sell a polishing compound that will make it look just like new.

I forget the name of it, but they told me it will work equally well on glass, it just takes longer with more elbow grease. I'm guessing it's not much different than these headlight lens restore kits they sell. All they are is a fine abrasive paste.

I use cleaner wax on my windshield with my buffer. Would imagine a dedicated glass polish and buffing pad would be your best bet.
