Re: Cleaning Undercarriage

The starter kit is self contained. It has the cleaner, prep solution and 4oz of
POR-15. Didn't need anything but some elbow grease and follow the directions!

Just in case anyone out there is doing a search on POR-15...I want to 2nd what mdest said. This stuff is THE SHIZZ. I did my entire wrangler's undercarriage in this stuff. It's like armor in a can. You just HAVE to follow the prep instructions. No cutting corners.

It sure can!

clean, sand, degrease, paint!

I had to split it up but it was about a day total. I also did the front, changed my oil, and installed a 4XGuard Front Guard

Re: Cleaning Undercarriage

^^^^ Sounds good. In a few hours, your Jeep will look just as
good as JDubyas . Just make sure that you put some newspaper
down to catch any dripping POR. I didn't and POR is impossible to
get off concrete - I had to grind that stuff off my driveway. Ugh!

In a previous post you said it comes with 4oz of the stuff? That's like nothing... How's the enough?

Re: Cleaning Undercarriage

The product covers pretty well - "Enough product to clean, etch and paint
about 6 square feet, with 2 coats". I had only used one coat (since my wife
had wanted me to paint a rusty grill from our laundry room) and only painted
the most obviously rusted areas. I will prob buy another 4 oz of the stuff,
after this winter, to apply a second coat/paint any missed rusty spots (I
have plenty of the cleaning and prepping solutions left, so I anticipate only
needing another 4oz of POR-15).

Re: Cleaning Undercarriage

Just wanted to say, JDub, that is awesome work bro!

Next spring I'm gonna try and get a go on a lift at the shop up the road from me to do mine properly. Done the wheel arches and fuel skid plate but undercarriage was impossible with the OEM jack. Look forward to getting it looking like that and I have heard great things about POR-15.

Thankfully I picked up a cheap car to drive during Winter too keep the Jeep off the salty roads.

Re: Cleaning Undercarriage

Thanks, Marty. I've heard great things about POR-15 but never tried it. When I have to repaint my undercarriage I'm going to give POR-15 a shot.
