Demolished Denali

Thought I'd throw this detail up I did recently for a friend cause it was quite severely damaged and may lead to an opening for people with detail questions. For the most part I am very happy with the way it has turned out, had alot on my plate but got the brunt of the corrective work done, door down came the second day. Here we go:

Upon inspection

Scuffs from whoever installed clear bra

Tail Scuffs

Pillar Scratches

Deep Tailgate scratches

Rear absolutely destroyed

Mirror looking bad

Waterspots

Passenger Door/Rear Pillar

Rear Handle

Left Tail

50/50's Front Fender

Actually cleaned up nicely in the end

Whoever installed clear bra didnt polish before installing...

Tailgate Cleaned Up

Part 2 coming.

Re: Demolished Denali

And this is why I left the lower door/rocker and bumper for the second day, the pictures will speak for themselves. lol.

Rear bumper

Lower door

Before

After

Not completely finished out but with how much compounding that took place this will look much better and much more would be unwise, and is actually curved back from you as you view it so it will look just great in the end.

This greeted me on the hood in the morning today, sawdust haha, I was doing the work in a carpentry warehouse. had lots of room so that was nice.

Finished up

Finally as mafioso as it should look . Car battled me but with time I was able to win I believe. Thanks for all the kind words and for looking everyone!

Well let me think for a second haha Ill list em' all:

Adams Polishes Products
-Detail Spray
-Clay bar
-Glass cleaner
-Super VRT
-Glass sealant
-Quick sealant
-Revive polish
-All Purpose cleaner
-Waterless wash
-Fine Machine polish
-Assorted microfiber towels

Menzerna Products
-Final finish 85RD
-Fast gloss compoung

Meguiars
-3" and 6" microfiber cutting pads
-D300 compound
-105 compound

Uber Products
-Assorted foam pads 4" and 6"

and 22PLE Glass coating for the final touch, thats most of what I can remember off my head but there is more in there I'm sure I missed.

Overall process was mostly here

- Most compounding with flex rotary assorted pads
- other compounding with microfiber pads w/D300 and 105
- Polishing with 85RD and fine machine polish
- Seal with 22PLE, most likely around 18 mo. protection

For someone looking to take better care of their vehicle my best words advice would be the following:

- Two-bucket wash method used religiously, will help prevent marks in paint from improper wash techniques
- If you live somewhere with snow and salt, do not let it sit on your car, even if you go spray it off at a coin wash that is better than doing nothing
- I used to be a rep for Adams polishes and have used almost every detail product you could name, including import product from other countries haha. And Adams is best for the person looking to take care of their vehicle and keep a proper finish
- And also never, ever, ever, ever EVER take your car though a automated wash unless you want it to look like this Denali.
-My last recommendation is to find a detailer in your area you trust, and one that you can find is familiar with proper techniques and not just a "quick detail" place as they will throw someone with little to no knowledge on your car and destroy it. For example I moved fast on this thing and spent at least 18 hours on it, 2 days of focus on just it.

As someone who wants to take better care of their car I recommend this combo:

Adam's Complete 2 Bucket Car Wash Kit

With the code "BLISS" you get 10% off and will be around $130 and you are good for washes for a while.

That combo is the best way to keep from making your car look like this denali, and with your order you can get a DVD and watch the entire way to properly wash your vehicle, super easy and the products are quality and made in the USA.

That clear bra looks terrible now...THAT'S how good of a job you did on this. Looks a thousand times better!

Someone needs to stop washing it with a piece of sandpaper...

I sure wish you were in NY mine doesn't really need it, but there's nothing wrong with a little preventative maintenance.

Yeah for sure does, think he may decide to have me take it off and make the place to put it on to replace it cause it really looks bad now and this type of bra cannot be corrected.

Does vary greatly from area to area, prices around here go from 200-800 or 1000+. With this detail and the coating applied you are $100 for one bottle so the prices go up for application. Something like what I did took around 20+ hours and would be around $500. The correction and protection should last 2 years with proper wash techniques and preventative maintenance. I also help friend out alot as I have been through my life. If you want me to recommend a quality detailer, feel free to PM me with your area, that goes for other people as well.

The reason I say this is many "detailers" are not what they say they are and many will hack away at your car with heavy compound and rotary buffer and then throw a glaze on. After your first wash you will see rainbow like things down the side of your car and then you will see the true surface of your paint, bad. One of the worst things you can do is to go to the cheapest or groupon detailer, true quality detailers do not offer their services like that and dont rely on giving people discounts without a second thought. Its quality/time/money, cheap detail short time, without quality. or quality detail, with time and costs required amount. Sorry for the long winded response haha

nothing wrong at all and if I was I'd be very happy to help, if you looked what I posted above those products are the best to keep your vehicle as defect free as you can.
