Re: Detailing the roof

No jeep yet but on my wife's explorer I just open the doors and stand on the door sills and use my polisher. I would also have to note that I am 6'3" so I can reach everywhere easily doing this

Re: Detailing the roof

Just step on top of the rear tire. No need to drag out ladders, step stools, etc.
Use whats already there.

I prefer;

I had some scraps left from a project so made this. It folds and I use it in my garage/shop all the time, so it's always handy.

Re: Detailing the roof

I have found that this Werner platform is the handiest thing for working on the hood and roof. I am also able to use it painting the house. While the retail prices go from $50-100, it is usually available for $40. I got it on sale at Home Depot for $25.
The Werner Aluminum Work Platform is 39-1/2 in. long x 12 in. wide x 20-9/16 in. tall. This gets you up and over the roof of the Grand Cherokee. It is so much better than a ladder or stepstool. Just used it to clay and wax the GC.

Just got a similar platform and used it to polish my roof yesterday. Made the job much more manageable.

That looks way to nice to get wet while washing the Jeep. I use a 6' ladder.
