garaging your vehicle

So I was wondering if you guys thought it was better for your paint to garage your car at night? Ive heard its better to leave it outside the garage in the winter because salt rust the undercarage in warmer temps. What do you guys think, better to garage it or keep it outside?

Re: garaging your vehicle

Im pretty sure its better to keep the truck in the garage due to less sun exposure which tends to damage the paint in the long run.

Re: garaging your vehicle

An unheated garage isn't really any warmer than the outside air. It does block wind, which is nice if you need to do some work but it traps in all the cold air, it's like an icebox. It's always best to garage your vehicle.

Re: garaging your vehicle

yea well my garage is attached to my house, not heated, but it was 38 degrees in it at night compared to 30 degrees oustide. So it was generaly a little warmer. It all depends on the garage like you said.

Re: garaging your vehicle

Truck is always parked in my garage at home (barely), and I park on the first floor of a parking garage next to the building my office is in, and whenever I go out running errands I always try and find a tree to park under. I've seen the sun absolutely destroy paint in Florida on people who never park in a garage/in the shade.
