Re: I Need Advice on How to Clean the Engine.

I normally don't cover a thing regardless of the car/engine. Unless it was a land rover where I wouldn't touch it with a cloth!

If you have a CAI, cover the cone to be safe, just remember and remove it before starting the car to allow the engine to self dry or you'll end up needing a new filter...

Re: I Need Advice on How to Clean the Engine.

Started fine Tony, gas pedal didn't do a thing though. Shut it off myself in terror ( I blasted the hell out of the engine with the PW) had all kinds of thoughts racing though my head. Saw the bag, ripped it off and tried again and it worked fine so I just laughed it off.

You could take the filter off and get one of those rubber caps with the hose clamp on them that go on pvc to seal it off from the water while your washing... costs like $5 tops..

Re: I Need Advice on How to Clean the Engine.

I use regular palmolive (green stuff) and water. Since its a degreaser its able to get any oil residue and grime off with no problem. Then with the fine mist setting on my hose nozzel i lightly mist everything off and then wipe down and dry with a clean towel. Looks showroom clean everytime when im done.
