I tried CG Black Light this weekend

Pretty impressive stuff. Easy on easy off and very slick. I can't speak to its minor correction ability because my paint has zero swirls. I have not topped it yet (because of the raging argument between my ears as to top with P21S or Collinite #915) I put it on with my Flex 3401 (love this thing) on speed 2 with no pressure and finishing pad. As a side note, the paint on my 2005 Magnum was much better than my 2012 Jeep. Orange peel and waves in doors are really disappointing.
Reflection shot:

Re: I tried CG Black Light this weekend

i've read about this, and it said it works as a good all in one. does it seem like it polishes or does it just "fill" in like a glaze? i use Griots Garage products, as well as a local place Ohio Auto Supply which make a lot of their own. I've recently started using Blackfire sealant which has the smoothest/slickest, wet looking finish, even on my white cars I've ever used. My mom's durango needs some paint correction and is black, but i don't have 8hrs to do all 4 Griots steps, then seal and wax, i want to all in one, then seal it and be done, and maintain with spray sealer(Blackfire Poly Spray). Thanks

Re: I tried CG Black Light this weekend

BL has some very mild abrasives in it. I can't tell you if it fills cracks cause my finish was pretty flawless to begin with.

Yes, but it looked nowhere near as good as that Black Light does.

I tried the Collinite #915 as a topper and I don't think they get along. The 915 streaked so badly it was ridiculous. My guess is BL won't last long without a topper. I have been reading that people are loving v7 from CG to top it but I have not tried it yet.

Re: I tried CG Black Light this weekend

Pictures look great, thanks for sharing! Glad to hear the Chemical Guys Black Light Hybrid Radiant Finish was a big success! It's a very popular product right now as it offers a great shine and good protection. The Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection should last quite a bit longer but it may not have quite the same initial gloss. The Chemical Guys HYBRID V7 - Optical Select High Gloss Spray Sealant is commonly used with the Black Light so for added protection and shine.

You can learn more about the Black Light and a little bit about the V7 here in this Todd Cooperider article on our Ask a Pro Blog:
http://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-P...ys-blacklight/

Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be happy to help.

Greg @ DI
