Keeping her protected...

Sorry for the noobish questioning but detailing really isn't something I know too much about. I'll try to keep it short and sweet.
2012 JGC, Bright silver. Want to keep it looking as new as possible. It isn't garaged and spends all of its time outdoors. I say it gets about 70 - 80% of the daily sun. I'm looking for the best product for protecting the finish from the harmful effects of the sun. Someone recommended I try a product called Nanoskin Shield. Looked it up. Some love. Some hate. All confusing to me.
Again, just looking for something that will protect the finish. I have the car hand washed about once per week or every other week depending on weather.
Any information/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

If its outside most of the time, you may want to look at a coating like opti coat, 22ple, or Gtechniq(some great YouTube vids of the Exo), or a good sealer like Blackfire Wet Diamond. It's very easy to use, great shine even on gray/silver etc. after proper prep, put on a coat, wait 8hrs(optimal, I've put on a second after 4hrs), put on a second and you'll be in good shape. Some of the coatings like Gtechniq, you can do the paint, glass, metal, and trim with one product like their Exo and Exo V2, that's what I'm going to next.
