Leather Care: to use or not to use.....?

I am curious what is the proper way to clean and care/preserve the leather, especially the dash. I heard from one dealer to just use a soft damp clothe and another who swore on using leather specific cleaners and conditioners.

Also, is there an improper way that might void any warranty claims if needed.

Thanks

Good stuff above,(Lexol), but there as an alternative not listed, Tanner leather care products.

Tanners Preserve Leather Cleaner & Leather Conditioner are recommended by Eagle Ottawa, the leading supplier to the U.S. auto industry. Eagle Ottawa has been making leather since 1865, so they know how to take care of it. They evaluated and tested both of these products in their laboratories during development to ensure best performance for their validation. Eagle Ottawa supplies most of the leather interiors for numerous OEM including Chrysler, BMW, Mercedes, BMW, Land Rover, etc. etc.

I have always used Bentley Hide Food ever since it was highly recommended on my Range Rover seats and dash. Have to be careful anytime you use creams with perforated seats to make sure you don't get the hole clogged.

Re: Leather Care: to use or not to use.....?

its comes in a spray bottle. its abit thick but not too much. they make a claener and a protectant.

out here in CO where its a HIGH DESERT and very dry I give all my leather a dose about once a month to let it soak in and keep that leather soft.

do you think it would have any issues with the perforated seats?

Re: Leather Care: to use or not to use.....?

i would be careful with the perforated parts. they may actually be a suede like material. I havent looked at them up close yet........

you dont ever put any conditioner on a leather that has a NAP unless it it made for that.

take a real good look at it. is it real smooth like the rest of the leather of have a nap or grain to it????

Zaino (leather in a bottle). Great stuff and smells like real leather, its a cream conditioner, the Zaino leather cleaner comes in a spray.
