My guess is that it's simply because of the ventilated seats that some models have.

Re: Leather cleaner

Best I have used is Adam's cleaner then there conditioner. Cleaned all the dirt left it feeling soft again on my other cars.

Re: Leather cleaner

My kids got sunscreen all over the rear seats and when I searched for the best way to clean it, the recommendation was to check on what good detail shops use. You may find many simply use a highly diluted pinesol and water type mixture to clean, and a soft damp cloth to condition/moisturize. This is consistent with the Jeep recommendation and leather seats last just about forever with this care. I hear it is important to not clog the pores and not let the leather dry out, but I'm not an expert here.

My last leather seat car was traded in at 150000 miles and 15 years and the leather looked new, and felt good... and I did nothing with it beside a damp cloth once a year or so.

But it is your leather, you decide.

Re: Leather cleaner

Zaino leather in a bottle is the best I've used. Smells great as well.

Re: Leather cleaner

I use the Z2 polish with the accelerator and Z6 spray. It is just as easy to apply as normal wax just don't over apply it. It is very addicting and each coat deepens the shine more then the next. You have to mix just the right amount or you'll end up wasting some wax. I usually do two coats with a spray of Z6 between coats. It is the longest lasting wax I have used. It smells great while working with it, very strange.

Re: Leather cleaner

Leatherique...hands down, the best. Pristine Clean for regular maintenance. No shine at all...made my 04 seats look brand new.

Lexol is very good for an off-the-shelf product. It leaves no shine either, at least not in my experience. It looks like it is at first, but the shine disappears within a few minutes.

Re: Leather cleaner

I just used some Meguiars quik interior detailer spray on my leather seats and it did a really nice job. No shine at all.
