Which tire gloss did you use.
Actually that is the way the dealer delivered the tires. I bought some Armor All Outlast Tire Glaze in the aerosol can. They claim it's supposed to last 100 washes. I haven't used it yet. When I do I'll report on how it works.

Re: Nu Finish ??

In my Meguire's Clay Bar kit they included a trigger spray bottle of Meguire's Spray Detailer. But I've seen videos of professional detailers using just plain car wash soap and water. All you're looking to accomplish is to add a lubricant to the paint surface so the clay doesn't "grab". You want it to slide over the paint effortlessly.

Here is a video of one of the best detailers out there claying a high dollar Mercedes that hasn't been washed in a year! Check out the results.

But then again, it's a lot cheaper to replace the brakes then to overhaul the transmission. But if you plan to keep the vehicle for less than 75,000 miles, then it probably doesn't matter. That will be on the next owner.

I agree. I started looking into this transmission, and it is extremely complicated. And EVERYTHING associated with it is ungodly expensive. Right down to the $45.00 a quart transmission fluid. I'll use the brakes. Pads are cheap. With that said I just signed on to my Maximum Care Lifetime Warranty today.

It's absolutely insane. The thing is that it's an obvious rip off. No transmission oil costs that much to formulate and sell at a profit. They're just gouging the consumer. I could see perhaps $9.00 or even $10.00 a quart if it's a high grade synthetic. But over $40.00 a quart is totally ridiculous.

It's much the same with that $300.00+ dollar "throw away" trans oil pan and filter combination. It's an injection molded plastic part they'll be making millions of. Just another way to rape the consumer.

Re: Nu Finish ??

Great advice in this thread! Thanks I am going to wash and clay bar my new overland. Ps- recs on detergent? It seems this is less important than what wax to use. Also would you wax a new car after clay barring ? Seems like this is generally recommended

Yes, wax or polish after using a clay bar. The clay bar pulls out all the small, microscopic particles that stick into the paints surface. When you wax or polish afterward it fills them in, and in the process makes the finish super smooth. Any good, brand name car wash will work well.
