Re: our WK clear coat hardness

I thought you said if UC doesn't work, then move to the 205...?

So (assuming the same pad), does it go;

105 >> UC >> 205

as far as cutting power?

Yeah, I meant those as arrows, lol, not greater than signs, whoops!

So the UC seems to be a good 'bang for buck' product.

Re: our WK clear coat hardness

yes it def is! try it and see how it works for you... it uses SMAT technology so the abrasives in it don't diminish like other compounds. U can just keep working it and working it! great stuff!

don't over-saturate your pad with product either!

Re: our WK clear coat hardness

Here's where I'm still confused.

I thought compounding and claying were the same thing. Clay is a solid form of compound, and UC is a liquid form.

I was aware that a compound could cut, I just thought it was used to extract contaminants.

So, is the UC actually a polish and not a compound?

Yeah, I'm planning on a detail here soon.

When it gets closer I'm going to figure out what pods I'll need and that sort of stuff.

Can all of the proccesses be done with a rotary? Like polish, buffing, sealant, buffing, wax, buffing...?

I pretty wax will need to be applied by hand. But the rest are all rotary friendly?

clay is not a compound. clayign a finish just picks up the contaminants that are stuck to the clear coat or single stage paint that the car wash soap can't lift. its silly putty that you drag across your paint. It does mar your paint but is no where near a compound..

UC- ultimate compound(not ultimate polish lolol)

yes can be easily done with a rotary but a rotary is not very user friendly and IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS!!! you can damage your paint very easily with a rotary. learn on the PC.

Yep, I just confirmed on Autopia, lol, why did I ever doubt you!!!

I think I'm going to;

Wash (degrease)
Clay
Wash
UC
(see where I stand - but I'll probably be satisfied.)
Sealant
Wax

Re: our WK clear coat hardness

The only I am uncertain about at this point is what kind of wax, and what pads I'll need. I'll try the UC and I already have some NXT 2.0. And asome leftover clay, but I'll probably pick up some more.

Re: our WK clear coat hardness

if you've never clayed before you're gonna be shocked on how much stuff you pick up with clay!

i like #26 and scott also likes it as well. it gives a great pop on top of a sealant!

get white(polishing),orange(light cutting),black(glazes) and blue pads(waxes and sealants)
