In between make posts here at JG only half awake and riding my high horse the last few days, I have spent a few hrs detailing my 04' Freedom Edition WJ. The engine bay is complete and the paint only needs one more coat of wax. Up next is all the black trim pieces and then on to the interior. :D

Since I had to use a 3 stage polishing to correct the clear coat (Meguiar's 105 and 205 polish and Blackfire Gloss Enhancing polish) I went with 2 coats of Dodo Juice Supernatural wax over a single coat of Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant. Probably could have skipped the enhancing polish but there are some areas where the clear coat can't be corrected with polishing and the glaze in the enhancing polish helps to hide the defects.

I use both a porter cable DA and an old craftsman rotary buffer. The PC is used with 5.5" pads on those areas with complex curves. The craftsman is used with 6.5" pads on the larger, flat panels.

Put on the 2nd coat of wax, along with a little work on the headlight housing and all the black plastic cladding today. Only the glass, wheels & tires need a little attention before I start working on the interior.

Before and after (M105 & M205) pics of the headlights.
