Mothers sells a product called back to black. I get it at wally world. I use it every time i detail the jeep. Not only does it shine the plack plastic but it gets rid of the wax streeks!!!

Re: Pet-peeve... wax on textured plastic!

I used Turtle wax ice on my black mustang and it came out good. It does not last long though, first time it rains its done. Its a good thing to use to top coat a wax it makes dark colors shine. Doesnt work well on light colors

Taping is the bast way to keep wax off for sure and it's worth the extra time and trouble. I have used Griots Garage dried on wax remover on the wifes car and had good luck with it.

Re: Pet-peeve... wax on textured plastic!

I either tape the car up, or use a wax eraser...a company called Duragloss do one...called #481

You can also use peanut butter (smooth) or groundnut oil

Re: Pet-peeve... wax on textured plastic!

issue with peanut butter is that you have to remove that after it removes the wax. peanut butter oil attracts dirt/dust like nothing else!!!

Re: Pet-peeve... wax on textured plastic!

I use Adams products and their waxes do no cause white residu on the black plastic.

I have also found that a white eraser or rubbing with a MF towel with some detail spray works well to remove the residue.
