Can anyone tell me what Zaino products to get for my new jeep? The product list is a bit overwhelming.

From reading other posts I'm thinking of just getting the clay bar z-18, z-2, z-6 and the z-7. Am I missing anything? What about towels?

Thanks in advance,
Albert

Depends on what your looking for. If you read the tips on the site and how the whole system works correctly, you need the whole kit. Thats what i bought and plan on doing it in the next couple of days. I did the leather in a bottle conditioner and theres a big difference in the seats now. And i bet that smell is what John Wayne smelled like.

Z5 is better than Z2 IMO. Zanio is a half descent sealant line with mega effective marketing. Black Fire Wet Diamond Sealant is better, IMO and cheaper. It's proven to last longer in independent studies as well.

Zanio is good, don't get me wrong. But it's not the miracle that some people think it is. On a car that is completely free of swirls and defects it looks great, but so does most any higher end sealant.

Zanio is not going to make all your swirls and micro-scratching disappear without proper polishing the car first. And the concept of "layering" is bullshit with any product. 2 coats is good to ensure full, even coverage, but anything more, no matter the product, is BS. It's proven to be completely ineffective to "layer" anything. So, what they are doing is promoting excessive product usage, period.

Zaino works well if the paint is well maintained, but it is by no means a miracle cure. The shop that painted my show car recommended 3M Performance Finish over everything else, and thus far it has done a good job of preventing swirls/light scratching but I can't attest to its ability to remove swirls or scratches.

How do you mean "it has done a good job of preventing swirls/light scratching" 3M performance finish is a synthetic LSP, basically, a sealant. It for sure cannot prevent swirls or scratching in any way whatsoever.

Bottom line. There is nothing that is going to actually "remove" swirls and scratches short of polishing them out with a DA/Rotary/Orbital buffer and polishing compound. Some products work OK to conceal them somewhat, but the only way to truly get rid of them is to buff them out.

Sad think is, most people can take a car that is flawless and wash and dry it one time and screw the whole thing up from bad technique.

Has anyone tried REJEX? It is not a wax but a treatment (sealer?) that maintains a great shine if the paint is already in excellant condition. After I got it really, really clean I treated my 2006 Liberty with it. Goes on easy and wipes of easy then leave it in the garage for 12 hours to cure. It leaves a glass like shine that is supposed to be good for 3-4 months. Let me know if anyone has any thoughts about it.
