Re: Saddle Interior Protectant- best product?

Here is what the manual says:

Leather Seat Care And Cleaning
MOPAR Total Clean or equivalent is specifically recom- mended for leather upholstery.
Your leather upholstery can be best preserved by regular cleaning with a damp soft cloth. Small particles of dirt can act as an abrasive and damage the leather upholstery and should be removed promptly with a damp cloth. Stubborn soils can be removed easily with a soft cloth and MOPAR Total Clean or equivalent. Care should be taken to avoid soaking your leather upholstery with any liquid. Please do not use polishes, oils, cleaning fluids, solvents, detergents, or ammonia-based cleaners to clean your leather upholstery. Application of a leather conditioner is not required to maintain the original condition.

How do you find the Zymol works on these seats? As far as film or change in appearance/feel.

GO HABS!!

Re: Saddle Interior Protectant- best product?

For the record, most people tend to use too much product and way too often on leather seats.

For regular dusting and wiping I just use a wet microfiber and let it air dry. Once in a while I will use a small amount of Zymol cleaner wtih the wet microfiber.

Yes that's correct, some manufacturers like Mercedes Benz specifically say in the manual NOT use any cleaner or conditioner of ANY type on their AMG Nappa leather seats, just water.

I would suggest to use a small amount of Shield Industries Conditioner on the left side of the drivers seat to feed that high wear area. On the dash I don't suspect anything other than a water and the once in a while a small spritz of the Zymol cleaner with a wet microfiber will ever be needed.

Re: Saddle Interior Protectant- best product?

Zymol cleaner for cleaning only IMHO. I used the Zymol leather Treat on my Summit dash (3 applications) and followed it up with the Zymol Leather Conditioner (yellow product), which I will use for maintenance. Dash has a very low sheen, most of the "roughness" is gone and it looks good to me. I used one application each of the Cleaner, Treat and Conditioner for the balance of the leather. I started this because the Summit dash looked and felt to me like it would dry up and blow away within the year. Of course, I'm in AZ so you need something better than just the cleaner for sure. No way in the world would that be enough here and even Zymol doesn't recommend it. It states on the cleaner to use the conditioner for best results afterwards. Use what you feel is best but I'll stick with the Zymol.

Exclamation Re: Saddle Interior Protectant- best product?

I would also like to remind you, by using a conditioner you are protecting the light color leather from Jeans & Denim stain..

Re: Saddle Interior Protectant- best product?

I've used the Zaino products for years with great results. I just applied the conditioner to our new Overland's seats last night. I did not notice any appreciable change in appearance of the leather, but since we have the black, maybe that would be more difficult to discern than on the Saddle color. It did smell nice this morning when I got in. I need to call Yankee Candle and see if they can make a Zanio Leather Conditioner smell. Mmmmmm.
