Under hood detailing...

I used "Auto Glym" to detail under my hood the other day. Even gets rid of the ugly white powdery residue on the aluminum. They recommend spraying on a wet engine, but I let the water dry for the most part after pressure washing. Stands up to heat as well, since I have driven quite a bit.

when auto glym dries, does it leave a sticky or oily residue?

No, it's dry to the touch, even on the hoses, unlike a lot of the silicones.
Spray on, wipe dry with a clean cloth.

CTC; it's the vinyl and rubber protectant.
