What Do You Use To Clean Tinted Windows?

Obviously I'm talking on the inside. I was always told not to use any type of glass cleaners on interior tinted windows. Even the non Ammonia types can damage the tint over time. Are there any glass cleaning products that are designed for automotive tinted glass that won't harm it? The biggest issue I have with just plain water is streaking. There seems to be no way around it. The more I go over it, the worse it seems to get.

I don't know if it's from the residue that's on the window from the tint, or if the plain water just isn't doing the job. All I know is I'd like to find something better that won't harm the tint over time.

Re: What Do You Use To Clean Tinted Windows?

Water and microfiber towel has always done the trick for me. I always make sure to wipe it dry otherwise it leaves a film.

My windows were dealer tinted. So yes, I would call them "aftermarket" tinted.

I think almost every dealer applies tint to their cars before they hit the lot there huh that sun is intense. I bought a VW CC from Larry Miller Avondale and in 6 months it was bubbled.. Hate when dealers tint it before hand. Prefer my tint guy at my specified percentage. I'm currently shopping for a new car in Phoenix but having a hard time pulling the trigger on one that already has tint, again.

It's fast add on $$$$, nothing more. Here it's window tint. Back east in the snow belt it's Rusty Jones, along with various other under coating scams.

Re: What Do You Use To Clean Tinted Windows?

The guy who did my windows recommended using water or vinegar/water mixture and microfiber towel. He mentioned if you're buying from an auto part store, go with Stoner. I've been using white vinegar/water and spray enough to dampen the mf towel, wipe, then wipe again with a waffle weave towel to prevent/remove streaking. I use the same method on the outsides and nothing I've used in the past has worked better than this.

I use this. For the price it can't be beat should last for quite some time. I use it around the house as well. I'm extremely picky about clean windows and this is some of the best I've used.
