headlights seem to dim

Posted on the red site and got no responses. C'mon guys help me out!

My parents have an 07 GC SRT. We've noticed that the headlights will dim while driving at night (this isn't the auto switching from high to low but the autohigh beam feature is enabled), but the low beams seem to slightly dim. Not too sure what's going on here. Anyone experience this? Is it normal?

Re: headlights seem to dim

nothing concrete here bro. but it sounds as if the power to the lights is varying causes this dimming. i would maybe try a auto parts store like autozone where they will come out and test the battery and the alternator.

Re: headlights seem to dim

It's been doing it for for 6 months - 1 year. If it's the battery or the alternator as I think it would have had some other symptoms, but I'm not sure.

Is the dimming totally random?

Not sure, I'll ask my dad tomorrow. I don't think there was any regularity to it.

Like only when the radio is on or something like that?

Re: headlights seem to dim

Well the radio is always on when it happens, I don't think we ever really turn it off while driving.
