Rear fogs corroded socket

I did a little mod on my new sockets in hopes of stopping water from getting into them and corroding the inside of them.

What I used:
New sockets
New connectors
Butt connectors
Heat shrink tubing
Electrical tape
Dremel tool

Here's a few pics.

Hopefully they'll stand the test of time and Canadian winters. I'll post on them after a bit of driving.

Thanks xoxSTUGOTSxox... Hopefully it works or it'll be a costly fix every time they rust out LOL.

Well I thought an update was long overdue. My mod was a flop but I did find a solution... I found it at home depot. I replaced the rubber o-rings with ones that are a smaller diameter and that were thicker. The o-rings I bought were for a moen faucet. Ever since the swap, I've had no condensation problems inside the housing.

Not off hand, but I do have the package in my junk drawer at home. I'll post up the part number with pic ASAP. It was in a multi size pack though lol

Here's a pic of the o-rings I used:

I couldn't find the package at home so I went to Home Depot for the pic. Still no condensation in the fogs and it's been raining a lot and I've been driving a lot too, not to mention car washes. They cost about $3CDN all in per package and you'll need 2 packs because there are 8 single sizes in each pack.

Another quick update. Still no condensation in the light housings and there's been a bit of rain with lots of driving. Hopefully these o-rings solve the problem for a lot of us???
