Remote wire for factory stereo?

I'm trying to intall my amp and subs and I cannot figure out what wire is the remote wire? I want to keep the stock because of the controlls on the steering wheel or if anyone knows if you can buy a aftermarket and still have a way to use the controlls on the wheel?
Anyway if anyone has installed amp and subs to there factory stereo and can tell me what wire to use that would be great! Also I would like to keep it were the amp only comes on when the stereo is on so I don't run the risk of running my battery down and getting stranded somewere.

Re: Remote wire for factory stereo?

im pretty sure you cant keep the controls on your steering wheel if you use an aftermarket stereo. Also I dont think you can run a sub off of your factory unit. If you buy an aftermarket radio it will show you which color is which on the harness.

Re: Remote wire for factory stereo?

thats pretty cool, I even called crutchfield awhile back and asked them if I could and they told me it wasnt possible. That thing is kind of expensive though.

Re: Remote wire for factory stereo?

Hell yea Matt that was the spot buddy!! also I did buy the RCA adapter for 25$ at my local car audio store. Easy install just wire it to the rear speakers and then there are 2 ground wires you ground to the stereo unit it self so you dont get engine noise and wala!
