Traction Control

May not even be an issue, but figured I'd ask.

For the first time today I pressed the traction control button on my 07 and to my surprise I noticed it makes a noticable sound difference in my drivetrain?

Has anyone else noticed this? It doesn't sound horrible, but certainly easy to notice.

Just to be clear, I didn't so much as go beyond 35 mph while off and it was a normal rate that I got there... In other words, I was not beating it up, just driving normal.

Anyone out there hear the same thing, or should I have this checked out?

The bizarre part is how the truck behaves and sounds perfect with the traction control on?

Everything is quiet and tight, shifts great, moves great.... Then press the traction control but and for the life of me I can't explain it, but there's a feint noise? Turn it off and nothing, it vanishes?

Re: Traction Control

Can't see how it would change anything in the drivetrain, it's all computer control. Perhaps the lack of torque management is causing a bit more stress and thats where the noise is coming from?

Re: Traction Control

You know I have noticed the same thing. Never really thought any about it because i thought it was just doing something with the gearing....
Please post what you find out because I am really curious now.

I never drive with my Traction Control off so never really noticed it either till the other day..

Re: Traction Control

I have a similar issue with my 07, but when I turn off traction control, I get the noise as well as a rough ride/shudder. When I turn traction control back on, the noise goes away and the ride is smooth. The shudder and noise is almost exactly like the rough ride/shudder I get when I go 90+. I'm planning on taking mine in also to get it looked at.
